Social Networks play an important role in eCommerce Websites for a variety of reasons, the biggest being Word-of-Mouth reviews and referrals. By maintaining a positive social network and interacting with the users, companies can encourage buyers to share their choices with others. When it comes to the different options of purchasing online, social networks offer their own options which can be beneficial for getting the word out.
One example would be Facebook Shops. On Facebook Pages, the owner can create a shop tab which can be used to either hosting their website shopping cart or use the integrated cart offered via Facebook. Users should be aware that adding items to Facebook while using their integrated system will give Facebook the right to share those products and sell them on the business's behalf. To determine whether or not the company should use their own system or the one built in, it is best to go over the Terms of Service agreement.
Using social networks combined with an eCommerce solution is more than just sharing post but also engaging the users. If a consumer writes a post about the company or product then the business, in turn, should take the time to thank them. Social friendly sites should not only have a link to their networks but a way to share the networks.
